Potentiometers Position - manual is unclear

Postby azimuth coordinator » Thu Apr 12, 2012 3:14 pm

Hi,

Section 4.4 of the manual is unclear to me - does selecting a preset honour the current position of the pots or the preset position?

"the preset value will reach the pot value in a smooth fade of 1 second"

Is that current pot value or preset pot value?

I know I could work it out by experimenting (and using bypass to blue) but it would be nice to have an official word on this (manual revisions perhaps) as it can be quite alarming for a newbie user (even with the fade) when a preset selection brings some unexpected and serious noize :)

Hi,

When you load a preset, the value of a pot is the one saved in the preset.
So it may not be the same as the physical position of the corresponding pot.

Until you don't touch the pot, the value will be the preset value.
As soon as you turn the pot, the preset value will be crossfaded with the physical value, to avoid jumps.
